Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need training to present this program?

No! Our program was specifically designed to not require a facilitator. Anyone who goes through our curriculum will be able to present the material.

I have a computer in our office that I would like to make available for parents, what materials would I need?

You would want to purchase one of our Agency Subscription Packages. Visit the Store for details.

I work with parents from a variety of places and they cannot always get to our facility, what options do I have?

In situations where parents are busy or live far away from an agency, we recommend our online accounts. When you purchase an Agency Subscription Pack, we give you full administrative access to the Parenting Wisely Program. In a short, 45 minute training, our staff will teach you how to create accounts and monitor their progress. You are able to see the time spent in each section, quiz scores, and dates of login for each user. Each account is active for 6 months once assigned to a parent. The course works on mobile devices, tablets and computers with high speed internet access.

What age groups are your programs appropriate for?

Our Young Child program is applicable to parents with children of ages 3-10.
Our Teen program serves parents with children ages 10-18.

How are other organizations using the program?

Most organizations choose to utilize the program as it was developed. That is, as a self-sustaining parent education program where parents use the program independently, at their own pace, and educators have the ability to track their progress without needing to be be present during the session. In fact, the anonymity of parents interacting with the online program erases almost all the negative stigma usually attached to parent education training!

Is outside funding available to purchase the Parenting Wisely program?

Yes, in fact many agencies who purchase Parenting Wisely do so through federal, and state, or local private and public grants. Want SAMSHA/CSAP grant writing info? Common sources of funding for purchasing PW are Safe and Drug Free Schools, violence prevention, delinquency and substance abuse prevention, child abuse, and pregnancy prevention funds at both the state and federal levels. If you need help writing a grant for the program contact us at staff@familyworksinc.com.

Has Parenting Wisely ever been tested for effectiveness?

Yes. The Parenting Wisely program took seven years to develop mainly because of the extensive testing and effectiveness studies that were conducted. Please see the Reviews section of our website for more detail.
