PARENTING WISELY PROGRAMS
Picture

As an introduction, Family Works, Inc’s Parenting Wisely is evidence, research, and skills-based.  It holds the distinction of being the only online parent education course for families that is currently listed on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services National Registry for Evidence-based Programs and Practices. Our work with family service agencies, probation officers, court appointed special advocates, counselors, therapists among others has shown that PW improves children's behavior and mental health. It does so by improving parental communications, and structuring skills. This allows parents to remain focused on improving their relationships with their children.

The program is distinctive in its flexibility in formats. It can be delivered to parents online individually, in groups, or in individual sessions with clinicians. Parenting Wisely uses  very relatable videos of parent-child or teen conflict followed by wrong way/ right way scenes. These videos are the most effective way to teach skills, rather than talking to parents about their parenting. The research shows very rapid behavior change, much faster than traditional methods.
