About Parenting Wisely

Simply put, Parenting Wisely (PW) is a parenting skills education system. The PW programs are designed to facilitate the learning of necessary skills for the healthy well-balanced raising of children from age 3 to 18. Proven to reduce problem behaviors and increase communication and family unity, PW offers well documented and tested programs that guarantee results.

On this level, Parenting Wisely is just like any other parenting program, but it is the details that distinguish PW.  Years of research and development have culminated in a program designed by professionals for use by those who truly need it.

Online Interactive Format

Available online, PW’s interactive format encourages maximum skill retention. Parents choose from different video enactments of typical family struggles, from teenagers playing loud music to trouble in school and more. After viewing the conflict, users must choose from a list of options representing different levels of effectiveness.  Each behavior is portrayed and then critiqued through an interactive question and answer session. The in-depth tutorials highlight the parenting skills depicted and give further insight into beneficial behavior. Each session is then concluded with a quiz, further engraining the information.

After completing all sessions, the information is unmistakably apparent to the users.  Presented visually, audibly, and in text, the information will be absorbed by all types of learners.

Unlike most parenting classes or trainings, the Parenting Wisely programs can be completed in as little as one to two three hour sessions.  On their own devices, or any public internet ready computer, parents can go at their own speed as they learn in comfortable anonymity.  Users feel no embarrassment or judgment, and without the stigma of typical parenting classes, parents are free to truly learn.

The easy to apply principles taught in this brief session are quickly learned and put to use.  Results are seen immediately as parents try out the skills they have seen modeled for them.

Parenting Wisely is evidence-based and proven effective. Extensive research and clinical tests show that use of Parenting Wisely resulted in:
  • Increased knowledge & use of good parenting skills
  • A decrease in  child behavior problems
  • Improved problem solving
  • Reduced spousal violence & violence toward their children
  • Program completion rates for parents ranged from 83%-95%.
Success of the program has earned it a listing in the National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices and an OJJDP "Exemplary Program" as well as many other honors and rankings.

Low Cost, Low Hassle

Unlike other parenting programs, PW requires no training to implement and one staff member can administer the program. Assistance is available by calling or emailing our office, but the program basically runs itself.

By eliminating the traditional costs of training and hiring new staff, PW is available for much less investment of both time and money.  The online based format proves to be both inexpensive and effective.
